The Canton Varsity Girls Basketball team dropped their 2nd straight game in a 42-22 loss to North Penn-Mansfield on Wednesday, January 22.
After trailing 12-8 after the 1st quarter the Lady Tigers opened up their lead to 9 points, 23-14, thanks to an 11-6 run in the 2nd quarter. North Penn-Mansfield increased their lead further in the 2nd half as they outscored the Lady Warriors 19-8, including holding Canton scoreless in the 3rd quarter.
Raeann Roupp led Canton with 6 points, Molly Ward scored 5 and grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds, Reagan Kelley added 4 points, Aislyn Williams pitched in 3 points, and Elle Binford and Courtney Weiskopff scored 2 points each. Binford added 2 rebounds and 2 assists, Kelley blocked 2 shots and grabbed 3 rebounds, and Alexis Baldwin added 4 rebounds.
The loss drops the Lady Warriors to 8-8 (5-6 NTL Small School Division). The team is back in action on Friday, January 24 at home with Cowanesque Valley.
