The North Penn-Liberty Mounties edged Canton by three points in front of the home crowd on Wednesday, January 15.
Wednesday's game was as close as they come as both teams were tied at 14-all after the opening 8 minutes of play. The Warriors outscored Liberty 17-16 in the 2nd to hold a 1-point lead at the half. After the intermission the Mounties edged the Warriors by a point to again tie the game back up at 46-46 heading into the last quarter.
Over the course of the final 8 minutes both teams hit 5 shots from the floor, however the Mounties went 3-of-4 at the foul line to edge the Warriors.
Three Warriors were in double figures on the night led by Cooper Kitchen with 19 followed by Ben Knapp with 12 and Zach Rentzel with 10. Isaiah Niemczyk had 9 points, Reese Allen scored 6, and Tyler Jannone rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
The loss drops the Warriors' record to 6-6 (2-5 NTL Small School Division). The team travels to Sayre on Friday, January 17.
