Warriors split with Meadowbrook Christian

In track and field action Canton boys defeated Meadowbrook Christian 98-45, while the girls lost 70-58.

Both teams lost to Towanda, the boys 86-63, the girls fell 95-50.

On the boys’ side against the Knights Caiden Williams (104-feet, 3-inches) won the discus, as Anthony Asbury (96-feet) was third. Connor Foust (11.9) was third in the 100, too.

Michael Skipper (2:27.6) won the 800, Williams (5-feet, 4-inches) was second in the high jump. Canton also won the 4x400 relay in 3:47.2.

Williams (39-feet, 5-inches) and Derek Atherton-Ely (37-feet, 10-inches) went 1-2 in the shot put, as Mason Shultz (49.2) was second in the 300 hurdles. Dylan Smith (6:11.4) was second in the 1600, with Williams (36-feet, 10 3/4-inches) was second in the triple jump.

Atherton-Ely (126-feet, 11-inches) won the javelin, with Isaiah Niemczyk (56.2) winning the 400. Niemczyk also won the 200 in 25.1.

Hunter Huffman won the 3200 in 14:24.5, with Foust winning the long jump in 17-feet, 6-inches. Niemczyk (16-feet, 11 1/2-inches) finished third.

On the girls’ side Canton’s Theresa Beers (6-feet) was second in the pole vault.

Reagan Kelley (78-feet, 11-inches) won the discus, with Camille McRoberts (2:38.2) and Jazmyn Wesneski (2:56.4) going 1-2 in the 800.

Canton’s 4x400 relay won in 4:39.1.

Kelley (28-feet, 8-inches) won the shot put, as Alexis McRoberts (6:10.6) and Jazmyn Wesneski (6:50.3) went 1-2 in the 1600.

Courteney Weiskopff (29-feet, 9 1/4-inches) won the triple jump, with teammate Lauren Gleckner (81-feet, 11-inches) winning the javelin.

Laci Niemczyk (1:07.5) was second in the 400, and third in the 200 in 29.6. Weiskopff (13-feet, 5 1/2-inches) was second in the long jump.
