CANTON — Back to back 3-run innings in the fifth and sixth gave Canton a 7-6 win over Wellsboro in NTL baseball action.
The Warriors had to rally back after the Hornets jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first two innings.
Hudson Ward (3-for-3) had two doubles, 3-RBI and two runs scored for Canton as Cam Bellows (2-for-4), Joel Schoonover (2-for-4), Hayden Ward (2-for-4) and Brendan Matthews (2-for-3) also had multi-hit games. Hayden Ward’s included a double with a run scored, Schoonover scored twice as Matthews had 2-RBI with Bellows also knocking in a run.
Cooper Kitchen and Weston Bellows each had a hit and run, while Carter Route had an RBI.
Hayden Ward started and went 2 1/3-innings, striking out one while allowing three walks, five hits, and five runs, three of which were earned. Brendan Matthews came on for the next two innings, striking out one with one walk, one hit and one earned run.
Schoonover went the rest of the way for the win, striking out two with four walks, but no hits or runs.
Canton will travel to Sayre next Tuesday.
