Riley Parker had two rushing touchdowns as Canton’s defense held South Williamsport to just one score in their 21-7 football win Friday.
Parker ran for 59 yards on 13 carries, while Hayden Ward ran the ball nine times for 59 yards and a score. Through the air Cooper Kitchen was 4-for-9 for 57 yards, with Hudson Ward nabbing two balls for 23 yards.
South out gained Canton 283 yards to 212, but were penalized nine times for 76 yards.
Parker got Canton on the scoreboard with 2:21 left in the opening quarter with an 8-yard run. Austin Allen hit the point after to make it 7-0 Warriors.
In the second quarter Parker punched one in from a yard out with 2:47 to go. The kick failed, giving Canton a 13-0 lead at the break.
South got on the scoreboard in the third quarter as Landon Lorson hit Grant Bachman for a 26-yard scoring strike. Kayvan Shams hit the point after, cutting it to 13-7 with 9:55 left in the third.
Hayden Ward shut the door on South with a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:48 left in the fourth quarter. Cooper Kitchen hit Ward for the 2-point conversion for the 21-7 final.
Canton will host Wyalusing for homecoming Friday.
