Lady Warriors Win Xmas Tournament Crown

Canton held on to defeat Millville 36-31 to claim their girls’ basketball tournament title.

The Warriors led by one with four minutes to play when they out scored the Quakers 14-10 down the stretch to secure the win.

Kendall Kitchen was named the MVP with 19 points, five boards, and four assists, as Molly Ward earned All-Tournament honors with nine points, 18 rebounds, and two steals.

Carolyn Thoren chipped in with six points, three boards, and four steals.

Sammy Brackman had three steals, with Sara Davy getting two.

Canton won their opener over Galeton 50-15 behind 20 points from Kitchen, to go with eight steals.

Emmie Tymeson added 10 points and two steals, as Ward had nine points, 17 rebounds, and three steals. Thoren finished with six points, and three steals, while Hickok had three points, three assists, and three steals.

Emma McGhee added two points, with Davy grabbing six rebounds.
