CANTON — NEB rattled off three runs in the top of the first, and that was enough to edge Canton, 4-2, in NTL baseball action.

Canton would get one back in the bottom half of the inning, then added another in the fourth to make it 3-2.

The Panthers pushed one across in the fifth to take back the 2-run lead.

In the bottom of the seventh Canton loaded the bases with two outs, but a caught line drive ended the game.

Holden Ward (1-for-4) had a double with a run scored, while Cooper Kitchen (1-for-4), Weston Bellows (1-for-3), Brenen Taylor (1-for-4), and Leo Karpinski (1-for-2) also had hits. Taylor scored a run, too.

Gavin Morse started, and takes the loss, going 3 2/3-innings to strikeout four, with four walks, and three unearned runs.

Kitchen pitched one-third of an inning, then Bellows went the final three. He struck out five with two walks, three hits, and one unearned run.
