Lady Warriors Edge Athens, 8-7

Taryn Acla scored on a Rylin Graham hit in the bottom of the eighth to propel Canton to an 8-7 win over Athens in NTL softball action.

The Warriors led 5-2 after the third, but the Wildcats rallied to take a 7-6 lead in the top of the sixth. Canton tied it in the bottom of the sixth before getting the winning run in the eighth.

Mae Kinner went 4-for-4 to lead Canton while Molly Ward and Keri Wesneski both went 3-for-4, with Wesneski getting a double, a run scored, and an RBI, while Ward had a double and crossed home twice.

Graham went 2-for-5 with 2-RBI and a run scored, as Acla was 1-for-4 with three runs scored. Madison Hulbert went 1-for-3 with a run scored, and an RBI.

Wesneski was strong in the circle, striking out 15 on the night while allowing 11 hits, three walks, and seven runs.
