VanNoy's Big Night Leads Canton Past Meadowbrook

MILTON - Cailyn VanNoy went off for 29 points as Canton pulled away from Meadowbrook Christian, 52-44, during non-league girls' basketball action Monday.

Van Noy had four threes on the day to go with seven boards, four assists, and six steals, with Daveian Crowley adding nine points, and four blocks.

Stella Rockwell and Danah Wesneski had five points apiece, with Wesneski getting three assists, and two steals.

Alexis McRoberts chipped in with four points, seven boards, and three steals, while Brenna Van Noy had two steals.

Maddy Fasnacht had 22 points to lead Meadowbrook with Kaylee Ward netting 16.

It was a defensive ball game early with Canton lead 6-5 behind a 3-ball from Van Noy. Van Noy scored nine of her team’s 12 second quarter points to give the Warriors an 18-15 lead at the half.

She got some more help in the second half, beginning in the third quarter when Wesneski netted five, and Crowley four - though Van Noy still had seven - but they couldn’t shake Meadowbrook as they led just 34-32 going into the fourth.

The Warriors saved the best for last with an 18-point fourth quarter behind 10 from Van Noy, while Crowley netted five.

Canton (3-1) will play again until they host CV on Friday.
