The bats came alive as Canton pounded out 13 hits in their 15-0 in four innings win over Bucktail during non-league softball action Monday.
The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, then tacked on four more in the second. After a scoreless third then put up eight in the fourth to end the game.
Jaylee Ward (3-for-4) had two doubles, 5-RBI, and four runs scored to lead Canton as Nevaeh Vroman (2-for-3) had 3-RBI with two runs scored.
Raya Preston (2-for-3) and Lucy Proseus (2-for-3) both had a triple, a run scored, and an RBI, as Lindley Sechrist (1-for-3) and Tiffany Acla (1-for-4) both scored twice.
Tara Gilbert (1-for-3) scored, and drove in a run, while Lexi McMurray (1-for-3) had an RBI. Trinity Acla also crossed home.
Preston took the win, striking out six with one walk, two hits, and no runs.
Sechrist led off the first with a hit, followed by Tiffany Acla reaching on an error. Ward would double them both in, then scored on a throwing error for a 3-0 lead.
In the fourth Canton rallied with two outs as Tiffany Acla singled, followed by Ward reaching on an error.
Gilbert then singled in Tiffany, followed by a Vroman hit driving Ward and Gilbert. An error off the bat of Preston would allow Vroman to score for the 7-0 lead.
Ward led off the fourth with a hit then scored on a Vroman single. Preston would triple Vroman in for a 9-0 lead.
Proseus made it back to back triples to score Preston, then she was plated on an error off the bat of McMurray for an 11-0 score.
Trinity Acla was hit by a pitch, followed by Sechrist drawing a walk to load the bases.
After an out Ward drove in Trinity Acla and Sechrist for a 14-0 lead. She later scored on an error for the 15-0 win.
